Extensive experience is something you find with all of Protec®’s field support staff and Stefan Van der Stelt is no exception. In fact, his experience began with growing up around his father’s bodyshop in Germany, before he joined the business as a paint technician in the mid-1980s. Along with developing his trade skills, Stefan also did a two year stint in the German Army and spent some time in the power generation industry.

Being offered this key role at Protec was perfect timing, according to Andrew Micallef. After recovering from an unfortunate motorcycle accident, he was looking for a new career direction. “I could see what was happening in the market and how Protec was evolving and improving so it’s an exciting role with lots of opportunities.”

Eleven years as a teacher, including ten at Kangan Institute’s state-of-the-art Automotive Centre of Excellence (ACE) in Melbourne’s Docklands precinct, was ideal preparation for Rod Curren’s new role with Protec.

They say that ‘variety is the spice of life’ and, according to Protec Territory Manager, James Kollias, it’s one of the best aspects of his job. James looks after customers in the north of Adelaide, as well as many distributors in country areas.
